Favorite horror games
Soap: Likes obscure shit, especially if it’s bizarre and bordering on erotic. Prime suspect? Illbleed. He also loves anything that has experimental mechanics. Loves The Thing (2002) for having the infection/testing/trust system. Favorite Resident Evil is Resident Evil 0 for the partners system (and also because he’s in love with Rebecca chambers). This is a man who should be feared because he finished lifeline with a thick Scottish accent.
Gaz: Make this man cry!! He loves story!! And you know this man is a firm believer in PlayStation 2 supremacy. Silent Hill 2 and Rule of Rose are his favorites. His favorite Resident evil is 7, due to the return to form for the series and the Baker family as a tragic emotional core to the story/environment.
Ghost: RPG maker fiend. Especially the disturbing ones. LiSA, Schuld, Desert Nightmare. Also enjoys the classics — Yume Nikki, Ib, the witch’s house. And he’s a fan of gorey point and clicks like Cat Lady, Harvester (he and Soap both enjoy this one), and I have no Mouth and I Must Scream. His favorite Resident Evil is 4, because he knows it front to back and can turn his brain off while playing.
Price: Not nearly as much of a gamer, but he does have a certain fondness for the original Clock Tower. Tense, compelling— despite being a seasoned soldier, it’s a game that can get his heart pumping. And of course, he feels so terrible for poor Jennifer. His favorite resident evil is Dead Aim because while he wouldn’t know where to begin with controlling a camera angle, he understands target practice just fine.

Here are my controversial age headcannons for the 141 + others
They are some of the best soldiers in the world on a high-class team, incredibly skilled. I feel that can only come with maturity and lots of experience, like 10+ years of experience. Therefore, in my heart, this is what I feel and gravitate towards.
Soap and Gaz + Farah - early 30's (I just cannot imagine anyone in their 20's being on the 141. I think they're frontal lobe needs to properly develop more.)
Rudy and Alejandro + Alex - mid 30's (maybe a year or two difference with Alejandro being older. Potentially older since Rudy and Alejandro knew each other for 20 years but I'm not certain if that counts time before joining military. In my head it does).
Ghost - late 30's (he gives off grumpy, dad jokes energy. Plus, I love that it makes him more tragic in a sense)
Price and Nik - mid 40's ("he's 37". Both actors are in their 40's and the characters very much resemble that. I've seen the greys and the wrinkles)
Laswell - early 50's (cause she rules absolutely everything, also the oldest of all the characters)
This just feels right personally. I also like that it makes the ages of the characters align better with the ages of the actors (for the most part). I like an aged up cast, I think it more fun to explore in terms of relationships, experiences, and memories.

there's something that tickles me the cutest shade of pink whenever i think of these silly little guys (coughKönigcough) having interests or hobbies outside of just being the world's most terrifying forces of nature on the battlefield.
this is plaguing my thoughts! i am imparting it onto the general public! i cannot stop thinking about this man or other KorTac members, so im making it YOUR problem with my silly antics! to preface, i'm saying this as someone who streams, and there are a couple of military guys who stop by to say "hi" from time to time. pairing this experience tandem with watching simon riley's va wishing an indie streamer's birthday... it just got my toasted ass at 3:47 in the AM whimsically thinking.
what weird, obscure hyper-fixated interest these built, brick shithouses (/pos) would enjoy in their brief reprieve of the horrific effects of war?
who would even be most likely to enjoy such niche interests? would they try to share it amongst their brethren? who lives under a rock and knows little to nothing about such online entertainment? do they watch informative essay-long videos? obsess over vtubers/streamers/youtubers? what is it do they fixate over?
König is someone whom i personally and selfishly pen down as a silly little streamer enjoyed. specifically indie streamers so he isn't overwhelmed by the ridiculously large audience or crowd, as lines of text are a blur by sheer explosive speed alone in popular, mainstream chats... no bueno, really. at least for him and his shy nature.
men like Krueger and Nikto seem a bit of a harder sell (imo) because they just seem a bit more... how do i put this nicely—a bit too out there to project this stupidly silly ideation onto them even as fictional characters yk? even for me! but it is very amusing to think about the potential of König getting clocked off-handedly by someone when he wasn't looking, just watching something on his phone off-duty or in the commissary before lights out.
König is watching a particular streamer/content creator play a game he likes. if he happens to catch you playing a FPS for the first time, it'd be akin to watching a baby deer stumbling into the world; utterly precious and genuinely impressed as you progress and improve, even if his messages in live-chat are a bit.. dry.
König's probably the only one who willingly provides tips or directions (only) if asked, and is fairly genuine about it. bless him, honestly, especially when he takes the time to explain certain mechanics to you in a way you can understand and implement rather seamlessly (he's so proud btw).
König is also probably in the minority camp of cheering you on instead of roasting/bullying you like the rest of the chat does, urging you to do your best!
König is frankly a very merciful viewer/lurker. unbeknownst to you, that it's the one humanizing silver lining when things get hard. eventually, his visitations become frequent enough that said streamer will be elated seeing his name pop up over and over again. he may not be able to say much, or attend every stream, but it's a welcome distraction. there's no known word that can express beyond any word in his bilingual lexicon to describe such gratitude for even a moment of peace.
König and his visitations are very sparse due to his line of work taking precedence over rather fleeting comforts. which is unfortunate, but he usually comes back or shows quiet support, however he can, a token of his gratitude. little did you know that sometimes even the strongest of men need a little corner to forget the battering surroundings... and that was both a very saddening realization but a warm one. a simple person on the other side of the world. the one who has never, not once, endured hardship like him, yet somehow is the same individual carving out space where built stress can shed like muddied boots and a sodden coat. even if unintentionally. it was the little things, really.
is it silly? ooc? unrealistic? yes to all of the above, but i do not care enough to be bothered with it! this is a treat to myself i am sharing publicly because.. i can! i had a hard week or so, therefore i am considering this a shitily drabbled treat to myself! and hopefully with this fluffy, crack-leaning list of head canons, i can finally sleep!

In your opinion, what jobs 141 would have out of military?
For me, Price would work on a hospital in ER, this man can't be out of stressful situations even if he wanted, or he would work on OB/GYN. Or maybe a cop.
Gaz, my golden boy, a bit clichê, but he would definitely be a model, I can't see him anywhere else. This man would be in Vogue, and if someone questioned, he would be like "That model really looks like me".
Ghost it's extreme, we would either be a butcher, just there to pay rent, or he would do like, theater/musicals, at t first he was just there for the joke, someone like him doing this, but then he just found out he has a great voice, then he's making "colleagues" they're friends he just doesn't want to admit, then he's full on making tours.
Soap, a little bit controversial, but he at frist would try something "More like military", cop, etc. then he tried being a kindergarden teacher, and now he's full on making little activities with the children. This man loves kids.
-🐻✨
Ok, honestly i love all of these and it made sensee
And tbh ive never thought about it myself.. but if i have to think about it then..
Price: Headchef Ghost: butcher/store-clerk + stand up comedian on the side Gaz: Pediatrician Soap: aerospace engineer
Price, this man thrive in stressful situation LOLOL (so u right, but OB/GYN Price?? HMMMM yes.. EHEHEH- I think if I have him helping me giving birth, id just get pregnant again immediately)
I wanted to say firefighters, cops, and the like- but its lowkey similiar to military. So if i had to think anything way different, id say he'd be a headchef at a high end restaurant.
Its stressful, working in cramped space with the heat and all, they need someone level headed like him who could also command people.
Gaz being a model just made sense, ofc- but for some reason i had this idea that it would be a cliche where he never even think of working in that field.
He just be minding his own business and then suddenly this guy scouted him, offering him a job as calvin klein model or something. Which sounded like a scam, Gaz thought it was a scam, but apparently not.
That, or one day he agreed to model for a friend's little online shop. It was nothing big, but somehow he went viral and now there are a lot of people seeking to recruit him, offering a hefty amount of money.
That, or he would be working at a job that work directly with people to help them.
He's also very kind, empathetic, and always wanted to help people. So.. (again if its not fireman and smtn similar to miliatry) he would make more sense to work in the hospital, he'd work in ER or be a pediatrician. EMT also works for him
Ghost being a butcher, because that what he would do if he never went to military. And I LOVE LOVE HC when its something people wont corelate the character to but just make sense, like what u said, theater/musical
Some other things i think he would do.. are stuff that's not too extreme, idk why- but compared to the others, outside of the military it made sense for him to have a comparably chill job. Well maybe not chill chill, but it's something that he could do with his brain off, letting his body move in autopilot, like working in a store, or bartending.
BUT- just like musical, I could actually picture him doing stand up comedy on the side LOL
Soap being kindergarten teacher would be great, coz i HC him having a big family and so he was used to handling children (cousins, nephews, nieces, and all). BUT the thing is- he treated every children like they were part of the MacTavish, which means he often play too rough with them. The kids are having fun, they're fine, but parents don't like that. He would also do great working as a football coach for kids.
And, I feel like he would need a job thats often stimulating, he's also very smart so I can picture him being a detective actually, or high-end engineer (aerospace, biomedic, nuclear, etc)
He's that one unemployed guy who got a job at NASA as his first job after a long time, bro gotta stop applying at indeed, now he be going to mars in an hour

𝐁𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐀! 𝐀𝐔 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐬 ::: 𝐒𝐈𝐌𝐎𝐍 "𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓" 𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐘
A MAN'S HEART IS TRULY A WRETCHED, WRETCHED THING MASTERLIST. CALL OF DUTY MASTERLIST.
Ballerina! reader, who focus too much on technical perfection rather than the artistic value of the performance.
Ballerina! reader, who was chosen to be the prima ballerina for Swan Lake.
And ballerina! reader, who is nicknamed a "robot-ballerina" from how she has no "soul". Whispers say you've sold it to the devil. So, how can a soulless ballerina play Odette and Odile well, then?
The director said, "Fall in love, my darling! That's your way to touch Odette! To stop being soulless."
But, little did he know, that ballerina! reader do not fall in love.
Ballerina! reader who meets Simon under the awnings of a bankrupt cafe, in the middle of the nasty storm of London.
Big, over-six-foot guy, in a black leather jacket that did little to hide the width of his shoulders. At first, you're pretty intimidated - is he going to kidnap you?
Ballerina! reader, who follows Simon to the pub to shelter from the rain. "No sense waiting in the wet," he said in his heavy accent.
Ballerina! reader, who is quite awkward with people—only having one or two people she could consider friends - your mother counts. You end up giving out your real name and address in your attempt to create a topic, thinking he'll take advantage of the stupidity.
Simon didn't. Luckily, Simon didn't. He is a pretty quiet guy, doesn't use his big stature for bad things.
The night you met, you and him talked about small things. Your job, his job – turn out he's in the military—somehow that wasn't surprising; Maybe you've long been judging by his slightly crooked nose (definitely has been broken several times), and the old scars around his jaws when he takes off his mask to take a sip of whatever he ordered.
Despite his height and build, Simon was anything but dangerous. It's natural for you to hope to see him again, right?
And when the second meeting comes, you invite him to your house. Something about it screams stupidity, vulnerability - danger.
But, how can he do all that when he holds you tightly like a good lover? As if full of love as he placed his lips on yours, tracing every inch of your skin as if in worship.
Laid bare, you are. With your pleading love-me eyes—the gaping mouth of a virgin begging for someone to pour love into it until it hits the back of her throat, swallowed without a trace – “let me wash my esophagus with this. So that my future lovers don't find out how unlovable I am.”
Ballerina! reader, who is starved for touch and love.
And when the third meeting arrived, you've gone too deep to pull away.
Ballerina! reader, who loosens her strings, only to sever them completely. Boundaries and lines begin to blur without you realizing it.
What started out as just giving him your phone number—“in case you or I need each other to… you know,”—then a text or two more when he was “away,” then a call, then a habit of receiving random texts and pictures (him feeding a cat on deployment, you and your calluses, Simon not understanding why you bought new pointe shoes just to break them, the scarecrow that reminds him of you and your tutu), and the new “why didn’t you call me when you were away?” protest when he went completely radio silent in this new deployment.
Ballerina! reader, who has the determination to embody Odette - "Fall in love, my darling! That's your way to touch Odette! To stop being soulless" and chooses Simon, of all people, to fall in love with.
Ballerina! reader, who ends up falling in love with Simon-fucking-Riley, the owner of the most despicable heart a man has ever had.
Ballerina! reader who thought she could keep this casual (as Simon wanted), and ended up confessing her love in the end.
Ballerina! reader, who then realizes what a grave mistake that was. How stupid she was to put her heart first as if it were important, as if she hadn't spent her whole life ignoring it.
Ballerina! reader, who immediately noticed the difference in Simon’s expression and behavior. The man stretched his long legs in wide strides as he gathered his few belongings from her apartment, saying “that wasn’t our deal, love,”
Ballerina! reader, pathetically crying, begs Simon to keep her in his life, not to cut her off—to stay. She promises, vows, not to say she loves him; that Simon could come and go as he pleased as long as he wouldn't leave her forever.
But, he left anyway.
Ballerina! reader, who finds Simon leaving with another woman in his arms a few days after. Beautiful, confident, and not you.
And yes! Yes, you have succeeded in embodying Odette, Odile too! But, at what cost? Your defense: art is created from the blood of the artist. And yet, good God, how long will you have to bleed? He wasn't here to see this performance, to see the scars that he probably thought were some kind of tapestry.
Simon, who turned down Soap's invitation to go to the pub after the mission, says he has "some play about swans" ticket to use; the Scot scoffs, saying he never thought his big, bad, Lt. would be interested in ballet.
Simon came to your big performance. Straight from the airport after returning from a long deployment.
Swan Lake. That ballet he never understood, but he knew the story line and remembered how your eyes lit up when you told it over and over to him while being in his embrace.
You know those letters they force soldiers to write to people back home just in case they don't make it back?
Ballerina! reader, who thought she was worth nothing to Simon, but after years of not writing letters (because he had no one to receive them), the first letter he wrote was to you.
Simon who thinks you deserve better than him, doesn't know that despite everything, even the better one doesn't mean anything if it's not him.
Simon thought, all the love he had - no matter how big or deep, it was worth nothing.
But, unfortunately that doesn't change the fact that in his wild fantasies about a kinder world, you are the only one he wants. He doesn't believe in the Apocalypse, but sure as hell you'll be the one next to him as the Earth runs to the ground.
Perhaps, he’s too young to keep good love from going wrong.
What was it all for? A punishment? A penance? The need to always keep himself away from the good things in life, to continue to believe that he was created to be bitter and sour. Alone. Miserable.
He knows no end in desiring you, neither does his self-sabotage.
And when he saw you on that stage, his mind kept repeating "it's worth it, it's worth it" that he did this all for you, for the best. But, in fact, this is all just a sick tendency to remain rough, to suffer.
In the end, you and Simon are just two liars on display like show dogs.

COD Headcanons #6
It’s not a Date
(A Ghoap Teen!AU - Part 1)

It’s not a date, Johnny and Simon are friends. Simon doesn’t even like guys, he is positive of it. Boys that skateboard and smoke out back of the gym at lunch and pick fights and constantly have loud angry music bleeding out of their headphones don’t like other boys. There’s no way Johnny could be that lucky
They meet in chemistry class after getting paired up and Simon compliments the doodles Johnny has trailed all over their oxidation worksheet. He looks up and the older boy’s eyes are just locked on the paper (on his hands) and it’s intense
He listens as Simon opens up about his favorite bands (nothing Johnny’s ever heard of) taking the rare opportunity to look at him, his shaggy blond hair, faded orangy dye still clinging to the splitting ends, the chipped front tooth he flashes as he grins
He’s still thinking about the look on Simon’s face as he pressed the drawing for his binder cover into his hands (a swirling green mass of flames and skulls and guns) when he goes to bed that night. The pink tinge on his cheeks and the way his mouth hung open for just a second before he snapped it shut and swallowed. Johnny falls sleep smiling
They talk every day in class and Johnny relishes the familiar way Simon bumps into his shoulder and flicks erasers at him when he gets up to turn in their work
One day he finds a crumpled piece of notebook paper jammed into the slots of his locker, the handwriting is a blocky, cramped collection of numbers with a doodle of a skull underneath — Johnny fishes out his Nokia immediately to add it to his contacts. It’s the first number he’s gotten since he moved here
There’s not much to do in Manchester and neither one has a good enough fake to get beer, so they’ll meet up at the end of Johnny’s street (Simon always texts him the letter X about 5 minutes before he’ll come rolling by on his board) and they’ll walk towards the laundromat or the Tesco eventually making their way to the park
Simon pulls a joint from behind his ear and lights it with the heavy looking zippo he keeps in his front pocket. They pass it back and forth as they lounge on the round-about, Simon’s foot planted in the mulch and gently rocking them back and forth
Johnny hands back the last of it, not wanting to be rude, and Simon leans forward as he takes the final hit, cherry glowing in the darkness, wraps a large hand around the back of Johnny’s neck and connects their lips blowing harsh smoke into his mouth.
“Thought we should share…”
Maybe Johnny’s luckier than he thought.
——
Idea for this based on a couple of ask prompts I got (1 & 2) from @bringinsexybackk69, I just love this concept so much!

My favourite hot take is that Simon adapts way better to being a civilian than Johnny does.
Johnny went and left for the army the second he could do so, relentlessly pushed his career and is, most likely, rarely not on base unless he's been told to fuck off or move his arse home (by either his superiors or family).
Simon on the other hand finished school and then took up an apprenticeship before joining the army. Even then he came home, took prolonged leave to help his family out. He spent way more time just living that reality. And even post Roba he was at home for a while before everything went to hell. He might not take a lot of leave since, because he has nothing to come home to, but he still knows to adjust to it.
If they take leave together Ghost settles remarkably well, still keeping an eye open but he's an adult who had time outside the forces to properly adjust to life.
Soap struggles. He gets by with his charm and bright blue eyes, and that's a good thing because he's too explosive, too intense for most normal social interactions.
He's caught somewhere between the 18 year old boy and the hardened SAS soldier and never spent enough time away to really grow into just John MacTavish. Not Sergeant, not Soap, not the FNG. Just him as a person outside of the military.
He navigates this part of his life like its a minefield. Making it through but boy oh boy, it's not looking graceful.
Ghost helps him mellow out in that regard, pointing out the messy weird mechanics of normal civilan life to him. Teaches him to enjoy that and not let his job ruin him. Simon who knows how quickly it can all fall apart can't help to see the beauty in the peace most people get to experience. He'll be damned if he can't share that beauty Johnny. Even if it's always just for a little while.
And because it's Ghost, who never steered him wrong Soap let's himself be led. Allows himself experiences outside of work and his family. And while he might not be eager to admit it, it makes him a better person.
And years down the line when they both made it out, last mission just one too many that was too close for comfort, all of that helps John MacTavish to adjust. Sure he mourns his life in the military, someone like him is bound to, but he's not too worried. He knows how to get by now. And even the days where he feels very out of his depth, he can approach with ease. Because he still has Simon at his side to show him the way forward.
#this is not meant to infantilise soap#he's a grown and very capable man#but most of his potential he put into his life as a soldier#so he might need some help to realise he's allowed to put as much and more into his personal life#also an interesting twist on how people often portray these characters#i get why it's done but ghost struggeling so much with a life he’d be more familiar with than johnny is weird to me#one of them is the youngest ever SAS operator and put all his time into his work#and its not ghost#ghostsoap#soapghost#simon ghost riley#cod mwii#john soap mactavish#johnny soap mactavish#cod mw2#cod#cod hc#ghoap

The 'silent walk' is a trauma response, objectively. Simon's walk was learned long before he joined the military, and absolutely is NOT something he can turn off.
That being said, imagine a reader who developed that same specific trauma response, and now they just keep spooking each other around the house 😋😋
